Current Courier Conditions

In light of the pending Canada Post strike, it is expected that service levels may extend past their normal time frames due to higher call volumes as a result of the strike.  At this time we cannot predict the length of the delay, however please note calls will be prioritized by the service levels requested (ex. Executives will take priority over Regulars).  Our website will be updated regularly as information regarding service delays becomes available.

We are offering a Saturday service to assist with Canada Post strike volumes.  Please call Cory in our office for details.

Air TransportWhile not nearly as serious as the disasters in the Wesley Snipes film featuring airborne snakes, passengers and crew were surprised to find their October 2nd flight from New York to Charlotte, North Carolina delayed by the discovery of a significant number of crabs in the cargo hold.

The crabs, which were relatively small, had escaped their shipping container, and were wandering about the hold. While the exact quantity of fugitive crustaceans is unknown, a US Airways was quoted as saying there were “a lot of them”.

At Sierra Courier, we’re not strangers to strange cargo. Remember the story of the flying bull**it? Or the time we delivered Ram testicles? Here’s a list of the top five strangest items we’ve ever delivered.

We pride ourselves on customer service, and unlike some other courier companies, we look at each client’s request on an individual basis, and if it’s possible to help out offering an innovative or specialized solution, we’ll do it. Whether your destination is down the street in Winnipeg, or anywhere else on the globe, you can count on us at Sierra Courier to do our best to get it there.

Flight 890 was only delayed by about thirty minutes, as airline personnel scrambled to sweep the crabs from the cargo hold and send the plane on its way. There’s no word on the origin of the shellfish, how they got out of their shipping container, or their fate once evicted from the cargo hold.
